Ingredients
- 2 Bar spoons Demerara Sugar
- 2 oz. / 60 ml. Brown Butter Rum
- 4 oz. / 120 ml. Hot Water
- Garnish with Star Anise + Cinnamon Stick
Instructions
You MUST have fat-washed rum
- Scoop 2 bar spoons of sugar into a glass or clear mug
- Add brown buttered rum
- Add hot water
- Add Garnishes
How To Make Fat-Washed Butter Rum
- Melt butter on stovetop until liquid and slightly brown
- Pour into rum
- Let stand for at least an hour — the butter will congeal on top of the rum
- Optional, but better: Put in freezer for about a day
- Rum is now fat-washed
- Strain the rum or, if frozen, poke a hole in the butter layer and strain
